very nice unit, except the shifters. haha

  7. radarroy says:

@izimmm They use laser where there is snow too. Just keep the heads clean and they will work fine

  8. izimmm says:

great for sunny warm places…not sure it would work well in the snowy north….
but still very helpful to those folks who can use these.

Yeah….The STI-R Plus is supposed to have KA band selection but I heard they’re removing it from the U.S. edition.

  12. thelucky225 says:

One of the best remote detectors, just wish it had KA band selection

  13. radarroy says:

@Gamer10145 the only problem you will have is ice/snow on the laser heads
Just clean them off and you’ll be ok

  14. radarroy says:

@Gamer10145 The CI does fine in the cold, just remember if the lens get iced up or dirty on the laser jammers that they will not work until you clean them

  15. Gamer10145 says:

Roy, Ive looked for answers on this question and have yet to find them. How does the ci do in cold temp (15F) and how about snow and rain? IM in the chicago area by midway airport and we have all types of weather. I would like to know if anyone has encountered problems or has any feedback on this. Thanks! PM me for responses

I haven’t watched too many videos. Who uses a school bus? The only video I’ve seen was for Blinder and they were using a C5 without a front plate.

  17. DeathShadowBA says:

Other competitors do why not them?

  18. CamelDrifter says:

Good point. He should have driven a school bus with a license plate on the front. At least it’s not a flat black C5 Corvette.

  19. DeathShadowBA says:

AGAIN the point in a TEST scenario would be to use the worst possible setup to TRULY demonstrate the power of a GOOD laser jammer.

Not everyone runs no front plate.

The truck may be a decent size, it really has dick for highly reflective surfaces though.

Escort Laser Jammers = Weak Sauce, its common knowledge.

  20. CamelDrifter says:

Again, what’s the point of testing with a front plate if anyone using this can take their plate off? He’s already driving an F250, you want to make it even harder to jam?

  21. DeathShadowBA says:

No shit, But for proper testing of a LASER JAMMER it SHOULD BE DONE with a front plate.

If you can JTG with a front license plate then its a good setup.

  22. CamelDrifter says:

A front plate doesn’t mean shit if you don’t have one on the car.

  23. DeathShadowBA says:

I know that, I was referring to the effectiveness of the jammer itself.

The license plate is a primary focal point for a lot of officers. A lot of plates have retroreflective coatings.

A front plate on a vehicle can increase the chance of punch through significantly.

  24. CamelDrifter says:

Hey Roy, you’re a fan of Prodigy? I never would have guessed.

  25. CamelDrifter says:

Not all states issue a front plate. I don’t know what the laws of each state are, but I drove for about 6 months in Minnesota without a front plate and didn’t have a problem. I even got pulled over 2 times for speeding and the cops never said anything.
